Out the water

Pixel Flyer is out the water at Endeavour Quays at the moment having some work done. Whilst in Ramsgate she was unfortunately involved in an incident – nothing to do with me – she was moored up and I wasn’t even on-board at the time (I was racing on another boat for the day). She…

Every pixel tells a story

One of the things we love about the PixelBoat, are the stories behind the pixels. People are getting involved for all sorts of different reasons. One recent email we had in from Abigail after hearing Alex speaking: Dear Alex Thank you for the interesting talks on board our recent transatlantic trip on the Britannia. They…

Getting ‘onboard’ Pixel Flyer

Cleaning the hull

This weeks job has been to clean the hull. As we haven’t been sailing for a while, weed and silt has had a chance to build up on the hull. If we are sailing regularly then the movement of the boat through the water prevents anything growing on the hull which slows the boat down….

At the top of the mast

After breaking the old main halyard a few weeks ago, we now have the new one from English Braids. As it is a 2:1 system, it means that one end is permanently attached at the top of the mast. You can see in the picture that there is a metal ‘dog-bone’ that sits on top…

More sail sponsorship

We have another sail sponsor to announce. Our staysail has been sponsored by refrigeration company DCI Group.  South coast sail branding specialists Ocean Art have painted the DCI logo so keep an eye out as we sail around the South Coast preparing for more world records. We still have more sails available for sponsorship, including the mainsail…
