Beautiful weather for training

Mid May and the sun is shining. After dealing with several minor issues onboard it is time to get back out training and make sure all the systems are working properly. In a light breeze we had the chance to get out the big masthead Code 3 Gennaker for some practice, reaching along at 12 knots. Both autopilots are now working well and the new Fasthosts sails not only look great but offer fantastic sail shape which goes directly towards better performance.

The bottom of the boat is nice and clean, so we are pretty much ready for an attempt at another world record – we just need some wind! The record paperwork has been completed and we just need to get the satellite tracker fitted, which will be done just before we set off.

So for now it is a case of watching the weather closely out in the Atlantic and see what comes up…
